Surprise, Surprise!

On June 16th, Chris calls me from work and says "Lets go to Montana this weekend." He had already suggested going to St. George and I had said no so I'm not sure if he decided that suggesting Montana he knew I wouldn't say no or that he was just trying to see what I would say. Well naturally I couldn't turn down the opportunity to go see my family so the next day after Chris worked a half day, we were on our way to Montana! We decided to make it a surprise but I felt that I needed to give my mom a heads up so I called and told her. She tried to keep it to herself but she needed help straightening up so she asked Ben to help and that kinda gave it away for him but they were the only two that knew. We drove all the way there and we walked in and my dad was pretty convinced that he was hearing things until I came down stairs and gave him a hug!

Tyson did an AMAZING job in the car! He slept most of the way, talked for part of the time, and didn't really fuss at all! It was so awesome! Our car had been making some noises so we had taken it into the shop and they claimed there was nothing wrong with it. When we hit the road that day it was making the noise again. We stopped to see if could figure it out and noticed that it was the bottom part of the wheel well that had come unscrewed. The screw was gone and all we found in our emergency kit was duct tape so we used that and then Chris bought a zip tie that we put throught the screwhole to hold it on better. When we hit the road again the noise was gone.

It was fun to see Chris play with Brian. He got some practice with playdough and bought him a new nerf gun and they had a war. Brian was so thrilled to see us. We had told him that we weren't going to be there until the end of July so he was extremely excited to see us show up at the front door. Friday we went to Wal Mart and then went to Big Mouth Barbaque for lunch. Chris absolutely loved it! He claims it is his new favorite place to eat in Montana! Then we came home and played Wii and just hung out. We met a bunch of Steph's friends when they came over to help her move and then had burgers for dinner with my dad and brothers. Unfortunately my mom had to work.

Saturday we started the day off by going to the farmer's market with Kasie and Carol. It was fun to see all the stuff that people were selling. We had bought Tyson an umbrella stroller the day we left for Montana and so we tried it out at the farmer's market and he loved it! I think it was because he was able to sit up and look around at everything. When he fell asleep we just tipped the stroller back on two wheels and he had no problems. After lunch we went down to Giant Springs Park and showed Chris the Roe River...one of the smallest rivers in the world...and the general beauty of the Missouri River. Then we went up to Rainbow Falls. It was amazing how much water was going through. The river was so full! Then we took Chris to the Lewis and Clark Interprative Center. There we learned more about Thomas Jefferson and his involvement in the Lewis and Clark exploration. Chris was able to learn alot more details about Lewis and Clark and their journey from St. Louis to the Oregon coast. It was fun to see how much he enjoyed. That night we went over to Kasie and Quinn's new place! It is such a nice apartment. They are lucky to have it! There we got pizza for dinner and Kasie cut mine and Steph's hair. She also put highlights in Steph's hair for her. It was a nice to visit with them. Tyson got so worn out from being in the sun and not napping much during the day that he fell asleep around 7, shortly after we got to Kasie and Quinn's, and then only woke for a minute when we moved him into and out of the carseat. He then slept until 6 the next morning! It was definitely a good night of sleep.
We used the umbrella to shade Tyson from the sun
Hanging with Aunt Stephie!
Hanging with Jefferson
Pulling the boat to see how many miles an hour they would go
Brian had a blast pushing Tyson around
Kasie and Quinn sure have some comfy new couches!

On Sunday we went to Sacrament and then came home because I had a headache and Chris was extremely tired. It ended up being a good thing we left because as soon as we got back to the house Tyson just started to scream. It took me at least half an hour to get him to calm down and go to sleep. We watched a little bit of the World Cup and then Chris fell asleep so I just flipped through channels until everyone else got home. Then we played the Wii for a bit and ate dinner. After dinner we played some games and then Steph was going to leave. I thought it was because she wanted to go home to get to bed but it was still pretty early. It turned out she was going to go hang out with a boy so we told her to invite him over to play games. He came over and played Apples to Apples with us. His name is Blake and he is a very nice and funny guy!

Just because you can't see me doesn't mean I can't see you!

Steph and Blake! Aren't they so CUTE!
(they are still dating)

While we were all playing games, Tyson woke up from his nap and was ready to eat so Grandpa volunteered to feed him! It was fun to be able to surprise him with a visit from his grandson on Father's Day! He definitely seemed to enjoy himself!
Tyson loved to just sit there and play with Grandpa and Grandma while they were holding him. He absolutely loves Brian! I can already tell that they are going to be good friends someday! Ben has just started to turn into a softy around him and Steph says she has the cutest nephew around! It was a great trip. I know we had a great time!
