Christmas 2010

First I have to say, sorry that I have been such a slacker and that it has taken so long to get this and all the following posts up! I have been busy with millions of different things it seem like! I hope you enjoy!

Our Christmas festivities began on Thursday the 23rd with the Rood/Johns family dinner. For those who don't know the Johns are Chris's Grandma Rood's side of the family. They were the bulk of the people at the Rood Reunion earlier this year. It was great to see some of them again and to meet more of the family for the first time! I love seeing new faces although I probably couldn't tell your their names if I saw them today! We had turkey and ham along with mountains of mashed potatoes and a variety of salads! It was a very delicious meal! Tyson charmed everyone, like always, but this time with his talking! He is such a vocal little boy now! I just love it! He decided that he wanted to say the blessing on the food and kept up quiet well with Great Uncle Mike! It was too funny! It was an enjoyable evening of catching up, getting to know new people, and make great memories with all!
The next big event was Christmas Eve with the Lamb side (Laurie's family). Chris and I were anticipated a fairly large crowd but nothing close to the Rood dinner. When we got there, we were surprised to find only a few people and that was it. Grandma and Grandpa Lamb had come down from Logan and their son and his family (who's names escape me!) who live in Colorado came down to spend the holidays with family. It was great to see them again and have a chance to get to know them just a little bit more! The first time I had met them was at Chris's cousin Kelli's wedding back in June. We had fun talking and laughing together! Laurie made a DELICIOUS prime rib! It was a great evening. Grandma Lamb wanted Tyson to open his present from them! She got him the Little People Airplane....Tyson LOVES it! Laurie then had to pull out one of her gifts for him. It was a rocking horse. Tyson absolutely loves all the noises it makes and pulling at its fur. It is so cute!
Now you would think that with having just got a new camera I would've taken a number of pics but I was a little too preoccupied with visiting that I failed to do so. We just got a few of Tyson on the rocking horse.

Christmas morning was a ton more fun having Tyson this year! He mostly just loved to eat the wrapping paper but he also loved playing with his new toys. He got some pretty fun stuff from family. He got a number of toys, a couple cute outfits, and a super snuggly blankie from my mom. Chris got a nifty tool set from my parents and they got me a the Everyday Paperdolls Cricut cartridge. They got us, as a family, the Cities and Knights extension to Settlers of Catan. Needless to say we were thrilled about that one! My grandparents got us a photo cube clock and a really nice picture of Christ with some children, that we absolutely LOVE!!! We were dressed and on our way to Laurie and Clair's about Noon. We were planning on doing our gift exchange with everyone then but Ben and Wendi got held up at her mom's with lunch. As soon as they got there and the rest of us had lunch, we did the gift exchange. There were some fun things exchanged. I had Brandi and I made her a scarf and gave her a framed picture of Tyson. Chris had Ben and he gave him an old but nice jacket that didn't fit him anymore and then a bunch of workout powder, which Ben said was perfect because he was out! Ben had Chris and gave him a nice workout shirt and pants! Chris loves them. I know that Brandi had Wendi but I can't remember all the stuff she got her but it was a nice little variety of things and Wendi loved it all! Corey had me and he got me(with Brandi's help) a new pair of leggings and a cute dress to wear with them! It was awesome and they all fit perfect. Then there were the gifts that Laurie and Clair got everyone. Tyson got more toys and a cute little snack holder. Brandi and Corey got Tyson some rubber ducks for the bath and he loves them! We are always looking for more bath toys because he loves taking baths so much! The afternoon was filled with a fun game of Cities and Knights with Clair and Brandi. Ben and Wendi had to go out to her dad's to visit with him. It was such a long game but definitely a ton of fun! Once the 4 hour game was over we were ready to head home! It was definitely a great day!

I am so excited for next Christmas and to teach Tyson all about Christ's birth and Santa Claus. To see all the joy of a little kid in him! It is a time that I greatly look forward too!
