Memorial Day Weekend 2011

We had quite an exciting Memorial Day weekend! Laurie called up to East Canyon Resort about a month before and reserved a spot for us to take to trailer up and camp. She reserved Thursday thru Tuesday so that we wouldn't have to leave early on Monday. Chris and I both had the time off...Chris's through a request but I just happened to get it off and we packed up and hit the road. We got there around 4 pm and got all set up. We didn't do much that evening cause it was pretty cold so we heated up a Digiorno Pizza in little gas oven...it took over and hour to cook!!!! It was insane! We just played Yahtzee while it cooked. I got three Yahtzees in the first two games. Then we put in the movie I am Number Four. It was a fantastic movie!!!! Tyson did great sleeping that first night! Chris woke up at like 2 am and asked, "Do you smell that?" At first I couldn't smell anything but then it hit me, a super strong skunk smell!!! Chris was worried that Bowdi got sprayed since he was sleeping in the kennel just outside the trailer door. It took both of us a few hours to get back to sleep since the smell was so strong.

That next morning, we got up and Chris went out to check on Bowdi thinking that he was wrong since the stink was gone. When he walked out the door he got a big wiff of skunk, poor Bowdi had been sprayed. So we got ourselves together and headed back to town to get Bowdi all clean. We found a pet wash that had a skunk odor remover wash, then we used a hydrogen peroxide mix, and the stink was gone so I scrubbed him down with an oatmeal shampoo. He as as good as new! it was great that it ended up being so easy to get the stink out. We got back out to the reservoir with just enough time to do a little fishing before it got too cold.
After fishing, we went back to the trailer and had dinner and played some games. Then it was off to bed for all of us!

Saturday, we decided to take a little drive to Park City. There we got another fishing pole and my fishing license. Then we had to go to Wal Mart because Tyson had made all of his white onesies dirty so we got some new ones. It was nice to go for a nice scenic little drive. Then We decided to go fishing again. It was much nicer and I almost caught a fish but messed  when trying to reel it in. After it started getting chilly again, we headed back to the trailed and played a card game until Laurie and Clair got there with some dinner! Laurie made some BBQ pork. It was SOOOOO good. Then they played Phase 10 with us for a bit until it was time for them to head back!

Sunday we spent most of the morning just playing games and hanging out. Chris and Tyson also took a good long nap! It was fantastic! Then Kris and Celeste came up with their two kids to hang out. We went mini golfing and then had some dinner together. It was definitely a nice laid back day.

Monday morning Laurie and Clair came up again and took us to the Memorial Day breakfast. It was good food and quite a bit of it. They were so great to us! They helped us clean and pack everything up after breakfast and then we headed home. It quite the adventurous weekend!

Fishing Adventures! Quite the master fisher!

Tyson is having a good time watching everything that's happening.

Bowdi kinda on point...

Loving the juice!

His cheeks got a little red on our second fishing trip.

He loved playing with all the utensils. he would pull them out and spread them everywhere.

Sunday morning nap with Daddy!

There were tons of little lambs everywhere!

I am so grateful to all the veterans and to those soldiers who are currently serving this country to help this nation remain free! It is great to know that so many people value that freedom and are so willing to fight for it.
