Do you remember where you were and what you were doing when you heard the news on September 11, 2001? I was 12 years old and in the 7th grade. I was already at school although class had not started yet. I decided to go and say hi to my 6th grade homeroom teacher. I walked into his classroom and he asked me to be quiet. He was watching the TV and seemed very interested and involved in what was being said so I took a look. I saw the smoke coming from the first tower and was confused thinking there was a fire and really didn't understand what was so interesting about it but I didn't have time to ask, I had to get to class. I got to my homeroom and the TV had been turned on in there. Shortly after class started the second tower was hit. It had finally hit me that someone was attacking us! The news was on in all of my classes for the rest of the day and not much school work got done. At the time my dad was in the Air Force and we were living on Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, MT. I remember the bus ride home and how the gates were closed when we got to the base. They had shut it down. There were lines of people waiting to get on including buses from the grade schools, middle schools, and high school. Finally after some complaints from parents waiting for kids to get home they allowed the buses onto the base. However each and every bus had to be searched. The took long poles with mirrors at the end and ran them under the bus to check for bombs. It took a very long time to get home. Once I was there it was back to the news and wondering how this was going to affect my life and the lives of those around me. When dad got home from work I started crying and asking what this meant and if he would have to leave us to fight? He wasn't sure what was going to happen.
Chris was at home getting ready for school when the first tower was hit. When he got to school the TV was on and all they did in all of their classes was watch the news.
Now here we are 9 long years later, still at war with the Middle East. Many lives were lost in that eventful day alone and many more in the war that has been fought to end terrorism. Now the real question is, will terrorism really ever end?

Yup I do remember that day. I think I was in 8th grade if you were in 7th or maybe 9th grade i cant remember. I was outside for PE & our teacher said something about it. Then all day we were watching the news in all my class rooms & when I got home my parents were watching the news. My uncle worked in the trade center, he worked on one of the lower levels so he was able to get out. So scary & so sad.
