St. George, Vegas, and One Amazing Year!!!!

Chris and I took a little vacation for our first anniversary! On the 24th we drove down to St. George, UT. I had never been further south than Provo before this trip and so it was new and exciting things for me but all stuff Chris had seen before. We stayed at the Marriot Town Place Suites(which is owned by Clair's biggest client!) Chris went to school at Dixie for a semester down in St. George so that night he showed me where he used to live and we drove past the campus and the temple. It is so pretty down there! I just love all the red rock and the PALM TREES!!! They were my favorite!
Just as a quick little side note, we stopped at the Arbys in Beaver,UT for lunch on our way down and it is the only Arbys that I know of these days that still has the homestyle fries! They are my absolute favorite and it totally made my day!!! Well part of it at least!

Below: The ceiling in the lobby at the Belaggio. It was so cool!

Back to our adventure! On Saturday we drove to LAS VEGAS!! Totally new experience for me! It was fun to see the strip and everything but man was it HOT!!! Way too hot for me at least! We parked at the Belaggio and started walking after a few minutes I decided I was hungry and so we had to figure out where the Cheesecake Factory was. Well we ended up calling Laurie because we had NO idea! She told us it was in Ceasar's Palace so we turned around and started walking. It was only a block away and I was sweating horribly by the time we got there. We got inside and started looking at a map and couldn't find it so we ended up asking the lady at the golf reservation desk where it was. She said it was in the Forum Shops so we started to follow the signs. TWENTY minutes later...we finally made it. It was all the way in the very back of the building! We were both starving by the time we got there!
We got seated and then ordered our drinks and appetizer. When the lady came back to get our order she brought out a bread basket and a BABY PLATE! It was so cute. They had sliced up like 4 slices of bread pretty thin and then sliced up a banana for Tyson!
Well Chris and I ate and then paid. We had $50 in gift cards and only used like $36 of it but didn't know there was one here in Utah so we left our waitress a $14 tip because we thought we couldn't use it again. After that we decided it was too hot to walk the whole strip so I told Chris that I really just wanted to go to M&M World and the Coca Cola Store. We walked back to the car hopped in and drove over closer to those two places. We parked in the MGM Grand parking and walked through MGM. We stopped at a little gift shop and got me a Vegas hoodie and Tyson a little green monkey that said Las Vegas on it. Then we walked down the M&M World. WE got Tyson a blue M&M onsie and mugs for Chris and I. We decided to get my dad a dispenser because he collects M&M stuff. Chris decided that he liked the slot machine best so thats what we got. Then we got onto the elevator and started walking away when we realized that the elevator wasn't inside the shop like we thought and scurried back in to pay for our stuff! OOPS!!! After paying we headed across the hall to the Coca Cola Store. We were getting a Root Beer Float and needed cash to pay so Chris rushed off to get cash and I walked around and looked at stuff when he got back we got our float and sat down. I looked down to say hi to Tyson and found him out like a light! It was so darn cute!!!

Our float was so delicious!!! When we finished we looked around for some mugs but ended up getting a set of 6 glasses for just as much as the cost of the 2 mugs we found. We are so excited about our glasses and very happy we got those instead of the mugs! We headed back to the car after that and drove back down the strip one last time, which happens to be when I got all these pics!
 New York, New York
 MGM Grand
Not sure what building this is but liked it cause of the Cirque de Solil. Chris kept saying circus de sol!
Paris with its lovely Effiel Tower!
Ceasar's Place, where we had lunch
I have a new obsession with palm trees! They are so cool!
Chris concentrating on traffic. I have never heard people honk so much in my life!! Guess you can tell I've never been to the big city before!
I was just snapping pics left and right and thought it was quite cool that I caught Margaritaville so well!
This makes me think of Bond, James Bond!
Sadly this is as close as I got to Treasure Island but someday I will get closer!
 The Palaza Hotel! SOOOO Big!
Garth Brooks will be performing at the Wynn sometime in the near future...there were adds everywhere for it!
Yet again, I'm obsessed with palm trees
and
Cacti!

The cacti grew like freaking trees in Arizona! It was so crazy to me!
That and the mountains were huge!!!!

It was such a fun trip! I definitely enjoyed myself but was very happy to get back to St George. We drove by the temple at night so I could get a good pic which didn't really happen but at least I got a decent one! It is my ABSOLUTE favorite temple now! I just love it!
Sunday morning we were packing up to go and once we got everything in the car including Tyson, Chris pulled me back a little and asked me if I noticed anything weird about the car. Sadly I did! Somewhere between St. George and Vegas we lost a hub cap...lucky us we get to buy another new one....grrrrr....
It was such a great weekend! This last year has been the best of my life and I can't wait for the years to come and for the day that we can say it has been 5, 10, 20, and even 50 years! I know I will love him for that long and so so much longer!!! Here is to the next year of our lives!
