5 months old
6 months old
Tyson now weighs 15 lbs 10 oz and is 26 inches long!
When he was born he was only 6 lbs 6 oz and 19 inches long!!!!
I can't believe how much he has grown in the last 6 months. It breaks my heart and over joys me at the same time that he is getting to be so big and grown up!
He can now sit up on his own totally unsupported for long periods of time. He does best when he has toys in front of him to grab and play with but sometimes he just likes to chill sitting on the floor with mom!
He is still an expert at holding his own bottle but now he will do it when you are holding him. There for a little while he would only hold it if he was lying on the floor.
He will now drink out of a sippie cup on occasion. The lady at the WIC clinic told me to start giving him one but when I asked Tyson's doctor he said it was still too early to let him have it all the time but it was ok to give to him at meal times. So that is what we do now...on occasion. We still mainly use the bottles though.
He loves to sit up in his swing and watch the Qubo Channel or his fun Disney movies. He usually falls asleep watching TV but sometimes he just LOVES to watch everything that is going on and to see all the changes in light and color.
One of his new favorite places to play is in the high chair....because he knows that when he goes into the high chair he usually gets a snack or a bowl of food! What a kid! He just loves to eat and will still eat everything and anything we give him!
His doctor said at this last appointment that we could start giving him mashed up tables foods like mashed bananas and cooked peas and carrots. Well we tried out the bananas one day and they worked great. Yesterday, however, I tried giving him a banana and he really didn't want to eat it, he just wanted to play with it. I had set some slices on his tray and he kept grabbing them and then mashing them up in his hand. We are working on trying to teach him how to self feed. Sometimes he does great with it and sometimes not so much. If we give him something long he can have in his hand and it will still reach his mouth he usually does great but otherwise he still struggles but he is only 6 months old so what can i expect. He absolutely loves biter biscuts but they are just so darn messy....
Overall ALOT has changed in just this last month. He roles EVERYWHERE and is starting to get into EVREYTHING!!! We have definitely done a bit of child proofing lately. He is now trying to crawl. It is funny to watch him because he will get his butt up in the air and get on his tippy toes and then balances on his forehead until he falls to the side. Sometimes he will do that and then go down on his knees. He just hasn't quite figured out that he needs to use his arms!! It is so entertaining though!!!
Last night, Chris got off work early and was there before Tyson went to bed so of coarse he wanted to play with Tyson. Well Tyson cried if he could see me and I wasn't holding him. I am really hoping that this isn't going to become a trend with everyone because I dunno if I can handle a clingy baby! I guess we will see what happens though!
I am so excited for the changes in the next 6 months and can't wait until he crawls and then starts standing and then on to walking. I am so excited for the day that he will finally get teeth and be able to chew his food better! Most of all I can't wait until he can say mommy!!! That is the day I am looking forward to the most!
