It has been a year since Chris and I's lives changed forever. It has been one year since our family grew from 2 to 3 and life became so much more exciting! It has been one year since Tyson Christopher Rood joined those of us in this world and what year it has been!
Tyson was born on Tuesday Mar 30, 2010 after 8 and a half hours of labor. He weighed 6 pounds 6 ounces and was 19 and 3/4 inches long.
He is now a whole year old and weighs 20 pounds 2.5 ounces and is 28 and 1/2 inches long!
In the last year we have gone from a baby who sleeps all the time and was the world's biggest cuddler to a toddler who is EVERYWHERE and into EVERYTHING! He is so curious and wants to know what everything is and what it does. I love that he learns new words just about everyday and that he is WALKING now! I love that he can say hi and expresses in his own little ways of excitement how happy he is to see you. I love that he knows that I'm his mom and he recognizes me even though he still doesn't say Mama! I love how much this little boy absolutely adores his daddy! He is no doubt a big daddy's boy! I'm sure if you ask Chris he would say that he is a Mama's boy though :-)
We celebrated this big birthday a few times. While we were in Montana visiting my parents, we had a little cake for him and just had fun hanging out. It wasn't anything big but it was great to have a way to involve my parents in his special day! Then on his actual birthday, we went to lunch with Laurie and Clair at Chili's where he ate his mac and cheese and some french fries and then the oh so yummy looking chocolate muffin with mountains of frosting that Laurie got for him. Then we had a little Rood family celebration on Saturday Apr. 2nd after tricking Aunt Wendi into thinking that she was going to a birthday party for Tyson on Friday night but really was being surprised by a baby shower at her dance studio! We did a little lunch of chicken nuggets and fries (Tyson's favorite!) and then had a super super cute Thomas the Train cupcake cake from Walmart! After all the good food we opened a few more presents that saved for the party and then just hung out!
Forgive all the pictures! I just had to put them all on here!
So I mentioned that he is walking now and I have a little video to show it!
In other exciting family news, Ben and Wendi are going to be having their baby tomorrow (if she doesn't go into labor today)! We are so very excited for them to join the parenting world! It is such an adventure! I know that they are going to be great parents because I have seen the way they are with Tyson. We are also very excited that Tyson will have a little cousin and as soon as Breckin is a little older, a little buddy to play with! We can't wait to welcome Breckin into the family!
